Pat and Helene Complete Their NVQ's

Pat Goodridge, one of our sales managers and Helene Skinner, our Returns Administrator, have both passed their NVQ's this month. We're very proud of them for working hard to complete their qualifications whilst working.

What are NVQ’s and What do they Consist of?

NVQ stands for “National Vocational Qualification”. An NVQ can be undertaken at work, college or as part of an apprenticeship. We offer many employees the chance to study an NVQ, we like to give them the knowledge they require to excel in their job role as well as giving them a qualification they can keep.

The NVQ’s we offer our employees consist of assessments based around their current role. The assessments can take either a discussion or written format depending on the preference of the candidate. There are tasks to be completed in and around work and, depending on the level of the NVQ, offsite exams in Maths, IT and English.

Helene has completed her NVQ Level 2 in Business and Admin; it took her one year to complete. The NVQ focused on working as part of a team in an office environment and how to be professional at work. It incorporated aspect of her job role including time management and stationary management.

Pat has completed an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Management; this was a twelve month course which focused on improving management skills.

What Support has Variohm Offered throughout the NVQ?

We want to give our staff the best chance to learn and pass their qualifications so we offer support by helping them with any questions they have and by giving them support. Pat says “Variohm supported me by allowing me the time within business hours to do the course.” If qualifications are appreciated and appropriate, we also offer our employees a chance to study at the next level. Helene has already enrolled on the NVQ Level 3 in Business and Admin and is looking forward to getting stuck in she says “It is great to be given the opportunity to have further qualifications within work.”

Several of our employees are currently working through qualifications; we are constantly offering support and guidance and appreciate having a well-qualified team.
