The Variohm Group; 5 Years since Acquisition

It has been 5 years since Variohm became part of DiscoverIE. What has changed in the past 5 years for the Variohm Group?

On normal day-to-day tasks not much has changed within our companies. We still remain an independent holdings group of companies providing sensing, switching and electronic solutions within a multitude of industries.

Business Growth

One of the most obvious changes has been the size of our holdings group. At the time of acquisition, the Variohm Group (then Variohm Holdings) comprised of 4 companies within Europe, with 3 sites within the UK and 1 in Germany. Variohm Group now consists of 8 different companies, with 4 UK sites, 2 in Germany, 2 in USA and 1 in Hungary.

Being part of a larger group has given us the opportunity to accelerate our growth and become the group we are today.

Growth in our Team

One of the biggest changes from the past five years is the growth in our central team. There as been key growth in all of our departments; finance, sales, HR, operations, marketing, compliance, quality etc. being part of a larger group has given us the ability to expand all areas of our business and gain higher levels of expertise within our own team.

We have been able to invest in people and accelerate our growth whilst keeping our brand identity being part of a much bigger corporation.

Future Plans

Over the past 5 years we have completed 4 acquisitions which have gone extremely well, but there are still many unexplored opportunities between each of our business entities. So this is where we plan to focus our energy.
