New from Variohm Eurosensor: Contelec's Vert-X 88 Rotary Encoder Suits Ultra-Heavy-Duty Applications.

Towcester – UK – January 2015: Available exclusively in the UK from Variohm EuroSensor, Contelec’s recently announced Vert-X 88 rotary encoder is specifically developed for ultra-heavy duty angular measurement in lifting, positioning and compacting mechanisms for waste disposal equipment, industrial waste presses, agricultural machines, construction vehicles and similar demanding applications.

The 88 mm diameter encoder is housed in sealed aluminium to IP69 or IP69K protection class with a contactless measurement technology that provides high accuracy and an extremely long life of at least 360 million movements. Its -40°C to +85°C temperature range and maximum resilience to shock and vibration combines with 300N axial and 400N radial shaft load ratings for exceptional reliability even in adverse environmental conditions. The Vert-X 88 has a continuous 360° degree range and is available in two sensor principle versions, offering a choice of 12- or 14-bit resolution. This provides a maximum linearity of 0.1% with a repeatability to 0.1° in half or fully redundant versions with industry-standard voltage, current and CANopen interfaces. The higher bit rate option offers optional index points, characteristic output curve, rotation direction sensing and user programmable angle setting. Further custom options include shaft dimensions, electrical connection and mechanical interfacing.
