Canister Load Cells

Canister load cells are also known as compression load cells, they form part of our product range here at Variohm. They are a very common type of load cell and can be used in many different applications and industries.

What is a Canister Load Cell?

Canister load cells are a type of weighing device. As the name suggests, they are cylindrical. Like many load cells, canister load cells use internal strain gauges to measure the change in shape due to the compression of force.

Canister load cells are available in different sizes and capacities to make them well suited to different types of tension and compression applications.

When using a canister load cell, it is very important that the correct mounting hardware is used as this could affect the function of the load cell itself.

Canister Load Cell Features and Benefits  

Canister loads cells are as durable and reliable as many other types of load cell. They also have the following benefits:

Highly Accurate – Canister load cells are highly accurate and can be used in applications where accuracy is of the utmost importance.

High Capacity – Canister load cells can withstand high-capacity loads. Most of the canister load cells we offer have a maximum capacity of 50t but for very high-capacity applications we also have some canister load cells which withstand up to 150t, 200t and even 500t.
