Hall Effect Applications Hall Effect is a type of position sensing technology. Hall effect position sensors can be either linear or rotary and are used to measure the displacement of an object. We have a range of hall effect sensors which are programmable. Angular position sensors are available in different technologies, these can be either contacting or non-contacting. Their measurement ranges can be either single turn or multiturn. Multiturn sensors can measure angles beyond one rotation (over 360 degrees). Hall Effect Applications Hall Effect sensors can be used for many applications across different industries. They are highly versatile and have a long life as they are non-contacting. Some example Hall Effect applications are; Motorsport applications – steering and angle measurement, throttle control within engines Security – hall effect sensors can be used to monitor CCTV camera movements and angles Robotics – hall effect sensors can measure angles to ensure robotic movements are at precisely measured angles. Marine applications – angle measurements for rudder references on various sea vehicles. Agricultural applications – steering angle measurements and various other agricultural machine applications. Other applications Wind direction measurement Boom & slew angle measurement Joystick and hand controllers Active Aerodynamics Features of our Hall Effect Sensors We have a range of Hall effect sensors which we have designed and manufactured onsite. This allows for custom options and programmable angles. Our Hall effect sensors have the following features; Long life Extremely robust Redundant output Customisable housings / Shafts Programmable angles from 30° - 360° in 10°increments IP protection ratings (see data sheets for full details) We have 2 of our own series of Hall effect sensors, these are the Euro-XP series and the CMRx series. The CMRx series is a micro series. The Euro CMRx range This series contains; Euro CMRT – Shafted sensor with a mounting thread Euro CMRK - two part puck sensor Euro CMRS - Shafted sensor with a flange mounting Each sensor in this series can be manufactured to have a body diameter of 10mm and 12mm (dependant on the sensor), which is the smallest currently available on the market for their mounting type. The Euro XP series contains; Euro - XP - Hall Effect sensor Euro - XPK - 2 part puck sensor Euro - XPD - D shaft If you would like more information on Hall effect sensors or if you would like to discuss your application, please contact us.
