Innovative Engines and Engineering (IEE) Innovative Engines and Engineering (IEE) designs specialised aftermarket components for the Nissan Skyline GT-R high-performance sports car, an icon among car enthusiasts globally, and the RB26 engine which powers it. The company also offers services including 3D scanning, 3D CAD and 3D printing, as well as CNC manufacturing. Founded in 2019 by owner and operator, Stefan Etter, IEE initially focused on its innovative Drive By Wire System, which replaces traditional mechanical linkages, such as cables or rods, between the accelerator pedal and the throttle body. Using sensors, actuators, and electronic controls, it allows for more precise management of throttle response, offering benefits such as improved performance, fuel efficiency, and driving dynamics. IEE also offers throttle position sensor kits and a throttle body rebuild service, which can involve increasing the throttle bore diameter to increase airflow and fitting a new throttle position sensor kit. For the last six years, Eurosensor has been supplying customised throttle position sensors, which are used on IEE’s RB26 individual throttle body Drive By Wire system, and as part of its RB26 Throttle Position Sensor Kit. The design brief was for a sensor that was compact, dual sweep, customisable, reliable and had a proven track record in high-end motorsport applications. It also needed to be aesthetically pleasing. Stefan Etter commented: “We needed reliable, high-quality sensors for our Drive By Wire System and Eurosensor stood out for their reputation in motorsport and product specifications. Since integrating them, we’ve had zero failures in six years. The process has been seamless, with timely deliveries and 100% customer satisfaction. As we expand, Eurosensor continues to be our go-to choice.” For further information on IEE’s range of products and services please visit https://www.iee.nz/ Article published on: 18/11/2024 Article last updated on: 19/11/2024
