SIL 2 Pressure Sensors

SIL 2 stands for Safety Integrity Level 2, meaning the sensor can be used in functional safety that has a safety integrated level or performance level requirement such as PLd, ISO 13849-1, IEC 61508 or SIL2.

Our SIL 2 Pressure Sensor is constructed of high quality stainless steel for use in measurement of gases or liquids.

Suitable Industries for SIL 2 Pressure Sensors

SIL2 Pressure sensors can be used in many applications but are most well used within the following industries;

  • Mobile hydraulics
  • Automotive
  • Industrial equipment
  • Materials handling
  • Construction
  • Agricultural
  • Forestry

Benefits of using SIL 2 Pressure Sensors

SIL 2 rated sensors like our SMO3100PLd, have comprehensive diagnostic information for failure rates, reliability and lifecycle performance; they have the ability to monitor these aspects.

Tests have established both low and high diagnostic range values that can be used, with appropriate control evaluation algorithms, to interpret internal failures including both operational and non-operational connection, internal EEPROM and Watchdog errors.

Performance values are also available for MTTFd, Failure rate (λF), DC, and CCF as well as specific PL information.

SIL 2 Pressure Sensor from Variohm

Variohm can offer an SIL 2 Pressure Sensor; the SMO3100 PLd. The SMO3100 PLd series has been well proven in applications where accurate and robust pressure sensors are needed, applications including mobile hydraulics, industrial equipment and automotive industries.

Some of the features of the SMO3100 PLd are;

  • Constructed of high quality stainless steel
  • High accuracy
  • High strength
  • IP65 up to IP69k
  • High reliability
  • Long life
  • Pressure range up to 500 bar
  • Absolute, gauge, vacuum pressure
  • Several Port configuration options
  • Several Electrical interface options

Shock, vibration and other environmental performance specifications are consistent with the high reliability and long life of the SMO3100 PLd series.
