Linear position sensors are used to measure the distance between a physical object and a point of reference in a straight line. They can also measure a change in position and give accurate feedback on displacement in various applications and environments.

Linear Position Sensors

A Linear Position Sensor is a device used for detecting movement in a linear motion, the sensor then converts the movement into output signals suitable for processing, the format of the output signals will differ dependent on the interface requirements and the application.

Uses of Linear Position Sensors

Linear Position Sensors are used throughout many industries including; test/lab applications, medical applications, Motorsport, industrial processing, industrial machinery and mobile vehicle applications. You may have come into contact with these types of sensors in everyday life. Some of the applications that they are used for include:
