NCT-Running Against Cancer. How far would you go?

On the 5th July, 2019 members of our German office took part in the NCT running event. The slogan for this event is â€NCT-Running Against Cancer. How far would you go?"

The NCT running event takes place in Heidelberg Germany. Teams and individuals can complete a lap running, 10km run or half marathon. Well-known big companies from the Rhine-Neckar region donate an amount of money for each run kilometre or each lap of the individual runners. This is donated to the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg, along with the signup fee of the race.

This year members of our German office took part in the running to help raise money for the charity; Vanessa, Heiko, Sven, Uli (from B+L) and Steven.

The National Center for Tumor Diseases is a joint institution of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the University Hospital Heidelberg. Here, two outstanding institutions of research and patient care join forces to benefit the patients. Cancer patients at the NCT Heidelberg receive state-of-the-art therapy.

In recent years, the NCT race has established itself as the largest charity running event in Heidelberg and the surrounding area. We at Variohm are proud that we have been able to support this important event for the second time. Read about our experience from 2017 here 

Overall, our office team made an incredible 53km! This means we beat our results from our previous race.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the race this year – we had a great time!
