Novel load sensor has mechanical force output: ADZ’s force sensor available from Variohm EuroSensor

ADZ NAGANO, the leading German industrial sensor manufacturer, has developed a novel load sensor that provides a high precision force output up to 500 N and a temperature compensated range of -20 to +60°C. Available in the UK from Variohm EuroSensor, ADZ’s distribution partner, the highly durable IP69K environment-rated sensor has a wide choice of analogue or digital signal output options and features a compact screw mounted design that will easily integrate into safety-critical mechanical structures.

The new sensor is based on ADZ’s well proven load cell technology with mechanical force introduced into the output signal. An accuracy of ±2% FSO at +25°C and ±4% FSO at -20 … +60°C ensures practical operation over a wide temperature range. A fully sealed design with titanium wetted parts and a substantial shock and vibration rating enables use in the harshest industrial environments.

Users can choose analogue output options of 4-20mA current loop, 0 … 10V, or ratiometric whilst digital options include CANopen, J1939, and I2C. Presently, the range options available are 0 to 200 N and 0 to 500 N. Applications include industrial and construction machinery, crane and hoist, weighing technology, injection moulding machines, robotics and handling, and more.

Variohm EuroSensor supports ADZ’s full range of industrial load and level sensors and as a manufacturer and a distribution partner for other leading sensor and transducer suppliers provides complete sales and application support across a comprehensive range of sensor technologies for position, force, pressure, load, and temperature for challenging measurement tasks in industry, construction, agriculture, motorsports, research and more.
