Graham Pattison; 20 years at Variohm.

This month we celebrate another employee reaching a milestone with us. Graham Pattison our Group Sales Director has been working with us for twenty years.

Graham’s Journey with Variohm.

When Graham started working for us, we had just seven people in the team, we now have over 50 on site and over 200 in the whole group so we have grown significantly.

His first job role for Variohm was working as a sales engineer for position products, at this time the only suppliers we represented were Novotechnik and Contelec, now twenty years on, Novotechnik and Contelec are still key suppliers to Variohm but our product offerings have grown considerably.

After eight years working for us Graham was promoted to UK sales manager for our complete product range. He was then promoted to UK sales Director and more recently Group Sales Director meaning that he manages sales for all of the companies in Variohm Holdings; Variohm Eurosensor, Ixthus Instrumentation, Heason Technology Ltd and Herga Technology Ltd.  Graham says “This keeps me very busy, but the job is very versatile and interesting”.

How has Variohm Supported Graham Over the Past 20 Years?

We like to keep up-to-date with the products we are offering our customers so we organise regular product training from our suppliers. With the changing technology over the past twenty years, Graham, along with our other team members, has attended a number of training programmes from electronics to various Microsoft courses.

We also offer our managers regular management training. Graham has embarked on an extensive Sales and Management development training programme which is both internal and external.

Graham says “Over the years I have always known that my work is valued by the company and I have always felt like a person within the business and not a number. Also the career development that has been offered to me has been fantastic”.

The Best Bits.

The people make a company, and some of Graham’s favourite things about Variohm and his time here so far, are the people he has been lucky enough to work with. He says “Some of the social gatherings we’ve had were extremely memorable. I have worked with some real characters over the years, although they are not all still with us, I still try to keep in contact with them and they are now family friends.”

Roy Moffatt our managing Director has been working with Graham for the full 20 years, he says “It’s been great working with Graham, he is always so enthusiastic, willing to go the extra mile for customers and he’s achieved a result of turning our sales force into a team. Little did I think when I interviewed him 20 years ago that he would still be here now doing a really valuable job.”

Graham says “I would just like to thank all my past and present colleagues for making the last 20 years so special.”
