John Completes LLA Qualification.

By reading some of our previous blog posts, you may have noticed that employee training and development is very important to us.

We are constantly looking into new qualifications and training to improve our service and give something back to our employees.

Earlier this summer, one of our warehouse employees John Oldershaw completed his Unit 1 Warehouse Inventory module with the Logistics Learning Alliance.

This qualification will be used to give us ideas for new ways of thinking and working in the stores.

How was the training conducted?

A mentor from the Logistics Learning Alliance, Haydn Sandvig visited Variohm on a regular basis over an eight month period. The course tested initiative; John had to answer questions based on a scenario in a hypothetical company in order to complete the qualification. With support from the Logistics Learning Alliance and our Warehouse Manager, Alan Gilbert, John was able to pass his qualification.

All of our warehouse employees have been offered this qualification and many of them are on their way to completing this unit also. Alan Gilbert, our Warehouse Manager says “It’s always good to get different ideas in the warehouse and this course hopefully enables us to think of different ways of improving”
