Variohm at the Engineering Trust Awards

Last week we were invited to The Engineering Trust Awards at Bicester Golf Club along with other companies in the area who have apprentices through the Engineering Trust.

There were lots of different companies in attendance, during the ceremony people who had recently completed an apprenticeship were awarded with their certificates. The main purpose of the evening was to celebrate Engineering Apprentices from all companies. We have 2 of employees who have recently completed their apprenticeship, although they could not attend the ceremony, Emma, our Administration Manager collected the certificates on their behalf. Emma is involved in our HR here at Variohm and had a lot to do with the recruitment process of our Apprentices.

Emma says “It was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed myself, I was on a table with a group of people from United Kingdom Atomic Energy Association (UKAEA) and we ended up talking about their apprentices and fusion energy which was fascinating. I was made to feel very welcome by the Engineering Trust”

If we were to be invited to the awards ceremony for future apprentices we would love to attend again!

Apprenticeships at Variohm

We are a firm believer in apprenticeships; as well as our 2 graduated apprentices we also have 1 current apprentice – Jacob. He started his journey in 2016 and recently won the AMI Apprentice of the month, you can read the full story here. We also recently wrote a story about our Apprentices for National Apprentice week which you can read here.

Emma adds “We are not taking on another apprentice this year but we are considering it for 2020. Attending the awards has made me think about other apprenticeships we may be able to offer within the business.”

Overall the Engineering Trusts Awards was a really great event for us to attend and we are grateful to have been included. For more information please contact us: +44(0)1327 351004 or
