Variohm Warehouse Team Undergoes Export Training.

We constantly want to help develop our employees and give them all the skills they need to complete their day-to-day tasks with ease, and with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge available.

This month, some of the members of our Warehouse department were given some extra training on Export. They were joined by some members of the Warehouse team at our sister company, Herga Technology.

We decided to give our warehouse employees an opportunity to do the export training so that they are aware of the correct documentation needed for different countries. This will speed up the despatch process and ensure that our customers receive the correct documentation with their orders.

What did the Export training Involve?

The Export training was a full day course which was run at Variohm. The activities focused on export documentation and procedures required for the different countries we are involved in transactions with. The training also covered long term supplier’s declaration of preference and non-preference as well as the rules of origin.

These topics were then narrowed down to looking into commercial invoices, Import entry, tariff codes, European Community Certificate of Origin, Arab-British Certificate of origin, ATR documents, EUR1 movements certificates, and C88 for importing and distributing goods.

What Did We Learn From The Export Training?

The course was tailored to our needs; this meant that every part was beneficial for us.

We are currently using a lot of the documentation that was covered in the training. The course has given us a better understanding of all of the different types of documentation needed for different countries and why it is needed.

About the Course.

The Export training was delivered to us by Northampton Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Chadwick Export Services Ltd. Our tutor was Margaret Chadwick and she did an excellent job of fitting what was essentially a two day course into one day.

As we have included some of the team members from Herga Technology in the Export training, there will be a second session taking place in Bury St Edmunds office in April. We are looking forward to the rest of our team completing the same course so that all of our skills remain up to date.
