Welcoming our new apprentices to Variohm

We are pleased to welcome aboard Thomas Archer and Kyle Harlick who have joined the team as Mechanical Engineering apprentices. Over the next 3 years they will split their time between our head office in Towcester and Northampton College, where they have already started a BTEC in Mechanical Engineering, finishing their apprenticeship with an industry-recognised qualification and plenty of hands-on, industry experience.

Jordan Barber, Engineering Manager at Variohm and former apprentice himself, said: “Apprentices are integral to our strategy and ethos. We recognise that sustainable success is about investing in our people and developing the skills and knowledge we need as a business. In fact, many of our previous apprentices have progressed into senior management positions within the company."

Thomas and Kyle have hit the floor running and are currently working in our Production department, gaining invaluable practical experience as they learn the stages and processes involved in manufacturing and modifying our range of sensors and transducers. They will also spend time working in other departments to give them a broad understanding of every area of the business.

Thomas commented: “I have always been interested in exploring how things work and am looking forward to building my technical and practical knowledge”. Kyle added: “This is a great opportunity for me to earn while I learn and develop my technically-focused desire to solve problems.”

Jordan Barber continued: “I encourage Thomas and Kyle to make the most of every opportunity and take the chance to learn everything they can from the people around them. We will ensure that good training, advanced safety awareness and ongoing development are provided, equipping them with all the skills they need to build a career in the industry.”
