For applications where true pressure requires measuring then a pressure transducer is required. For applications which have pressure limits, a pressure switch is often used. Pressure switches have a set pressure limit which can be adjusted per application.

Examples of Pressure Sensors in Use

Pressure sensors are used in many different areas. Some example applications are:

Motorsport Applications – pressure transducers are used for measuring oil, fuel and brake pressure.

Medical Applications – pressure transducers are used within many different types of medical equipment where exact pressure measurement is required. They are also used to monitor oxygen tanks.

Liquid Level – liquid level sensors are a type of pressure transducer which are used to monitor and measure water pressure in tanks.  

Industrial Applications – pressure transducers are required to monitor pressure levels on different industrial machines and devices.

HVAC Applications – pressure transducers  are often used in HVAV applications to ensure precise pressure measurement. 

Extractor Fans – industrial extractor fans use pressure switches to alert the user of blockages by monitoring the pressure on either side of the fan.
